· Mid July- Mid December
· Use onions in soups, salads, sandwiches, stuffed, scalloped, baked, pickled, or boiled.
· As a general rule sweet onions do not store as long as hot onions.
· Brush the dirt off and cure in an airy place in crates or mesh bags for 2 weeks. Then store in a cool, dry place for 4- 6 months.
HOW TO FREEZE ONIONS:
Peel, wash, chop or slice onions. Wrap in aluminum foil or other wrap in amounts used most like ¼ cup or ½ cup. Place these small packages in another container. Freeze. Use within the first 3- 6 months as they tend to lose their flavor.
